The stitching width of this Bogu set is mostly 10 mm to provide a very comfortable cushioning on the top of the Men, on the Kote and on the Taret belt. However, the Mendare and the Tare itself feature a narrower 5 mm Sashi-Haba, making these parts that are exposed to wear and tear more durable and easier to mold in a shape that will deflect mishits.

Since we kept the design simple to make the Bogu affordable, functional features were our priority: mobility, durability, and of course good protection:

• Thicker padding on the top of the Men to absorb repeated hits

• Naname-zashi (diagonal stitching) on the shoulder to ease upper body movements

• Double number of stitching lines on the Men-Dare to make it rigid and allow it to keep its shape

• Lightweight, quick-drying, and flexible Orizashi reinforcements

• Durable Clarino (high-grade synthetic leather) on the rims to protect exposed parts
