Sakabukuro were cloth bags used by Japanese Sake brewers of the 19th Century.
Nigori (unrefined) Sake would fill the bag, which would be hung so that the pure seishu (refined Sake) would drip out.
This Shinai bag uses the same type of Sakabukuro fabric.
The motto reads ‘Munenmusou Meikyoshisui’, which in English, means ‘No intention, no thought. The mind should be as serene as a polished mirror and as still as the water.’
Available in 3 colours: Navy, crimson or light brown.
Holds up to 3 size 37, 38 or 39 Shinai.
