Top quality, at a fantastic price!
If you are looking for a beautiful, top quality Hakama, perfect for all occasions, then the 'All Japan' Deluxe Aizome Cotton Aikido Hakama is the perfect choice!
Specifically designed for Aikido use, this Hakama features a soft and flexible Koshi-ita, perfect for Ukemi - keeping the Hakama's beautiful shape, whilst allowing for safe practice. Further, the pleats are stitched on the inside, ensuring that they stay in place, no matter how vigorous your Keiko. The special 'Aikido cut' means that, unlike Hakama for other Budo, these Hakama have a special shape, keeping the front sitting higher than the back, effortlessly producing the preferred aesthetics for Aikido.
Our Sei-Aizome Cotton Hakama feature inner pleats, in order to keep a beautiful shape and the Hakama looking like new!
Genuine 'Aizome' indigo-dyed #11,000 Cotton.
Please note - This product is dyed using genuine Japanese Aizome, and the colour will leak/stain objects, and the wearer. It is recommended that the product is washed by hand, to remove as much excess dye as possible before use. 100% Cotton, may shrink slightly after washing.
Length may vary slightly for 1 to 2 cm to allow for shrinkage

The fabric is very sturdy and heavy. Perfect for training in an air-conditioned dojo.
Stitching is top-notch and the dye is beautiful.
A sensei at my dojo says that salt is a better treatment than vinegar for the indigo, so I will try that next time. I will also remember to unfold the hakama before I stomp on it next time ;)

I just purchased my second All Japan hakama of the same make (my old one lasted over two years of steady use -- the knees wore out, as to be expected.). Overall, this is a good product at an excellent price.
They are well constructed and the pleats, koshiita, himo, etc. are suitably sturdy. The ordering process is easier than other makers since they already come with the long himo meant for Aikidoka and the sizing is straightforward. As others mentioned, the shipping is impressively fast.
The only downside I've found is that the dye isn't the best. For both All Japan hakama I've owned, I soaked them overnight in a vinegar/salt water solution, stamped them out in the tub with light detergent and washed them a few times thereafter. The dye will still come off a bit after even after all that work, but not badly. However, after this process the color is notably lighter and a bit blotchy.
That said, I'll probably still buy the same hakama when this one wears out.

I have been using this for the past years and it suit me well, training with this hakama was awesome! Worry free during ukemi! It's strong & very durable. When ever I do hard keiko, it's still has the aesthetic appeal after. My kohai made a request for me to order this kind of hakama, sure did made it! Highly recommended for the first time user, this hakama will last for years!

This is my first hakama for Aikido. Several of us got our Shodan at the same time, so we all ordered from different places. I have to say that the AJB hakama is just as good if not better than many of the others. So there is no worry about quality.
Customer service was great. They helped me choose an embroidery color and pick a size that was better suited to me. All very helpful, and fast to return my emails.
The shipping though was the most amazing part. Other suppliers charge large amounts for shipping, and some can take a very long time. Once my order was finalized, I got my hakama in 48 HOURS. I am sure this will not be the same for everyone, because I live in a major city (which can make international delivery faster), but from Kumamoto, Japan to Boston, USA in just 2 days is amazing. AND it was included in the price of the purchase. You just can't beat that. I have found no other place that has that kind of value. I will be recommending AJB to all my Aikido friends.

I haven't had a chance to try the new Hakama yet as I'm still trying to get the excess dye from it. It is my first hakama and I've nothing to compare it to. However it looks really well made and I am really impressed by your customer service. By that alone, I am sure the product is good. Thank you very much
